. यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर (Utility Software)

ये प्रोग्राम कम्प्यूटर के रख - रखाव से सम्बंधित कार्य करते है। ये प्रोग्राम्स कम्प्यूटर के कार्यो को सरल बनाने , उसे अशुद्धियों से दूर रखने तथा कम्प्यूटर के विभिन्न सुरक्षा कार्यो के लिए बनाए जाते है। यूटिलिटी प्रोग्राम कई ऐसे कार्य करते है , जो कम्प्यूटर का उपयोग करते समय हमें करने होते हैं। उदाहरण के लिए , कोई यूटिलिटी प्रोग्राम हमारी फाइलों का बैकअप किसी बाहरी स्टोरेज माध्यम पर ले जाने का कार्य कर सकता है। 

कुछ यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर निम्न हैं 

1. डिस्क कम्प्रेशन (Disc Compression) ये हार्ड डिस्क पर उपस्थित सुचना पर दवाब डालकर उसे संकुचित कर देता है , जिससे हार्ड डिस्क पर अधिक से अधिक सूचना स्टोर की सके। 

2. डिस्क फ्रेग्मेंटेर्स यह कम्प्यूटर की हार्ड डिस्क पर विभिन्न जगहों पर बिखरी हुई फाइलों को सर्च करके उन्हें एक स्थान पर लाता है। इसका प्रयोग कम्प्यूटर तथा हार्ड डिस्क की खाली पड़ी जगह को व्यवस्थित करने में होता हैं। 

3. बैकअप यूटिलिटीज (Backup Utilities) यह कम्प्यूटर की डिस्क पर उपस्थित सभी सुचना की एक कॉपी रखता है तथा आव्यशकता होने पर कुछ आवयशयक फाइलों या पूरी हार्ड डिस्क के कंटेंट (Content) वापस रिस्टोर (Restore) कर देता है। 

4. डिस्क क्लीनर (Disc Cleaner) ये उन फाइलों को ढूंढ़कर डिलीट करता है , जिनका बहुत समय से उपयोग नहीं हुआ है। इस प्रकार ये कम्प्यूटर की गति को भी तेज करता है। 

5. एंटीवायरस (Antivirus) ये ऐसे यूटिलिटी प्रोग्राम हैं , जिनका प्रयोग कम्प्यूटर के वायरस ढूंढ़ने और उन्हें डिलीट करने में होता है।

These programs work related to the maintenance of the computer. These programs are made to simplify the work of the computer, to keep it away from inaccuracies and for various security functions of the computer. Utility programs perform many such tasks, which we have to do while using the computer. For example, a utility program may perform the task of backing up our files to an external storage medium.

Following are some utility software

1. Disk Compression It compresses the information present on the hard disk by putting pressure on it, so that more and more information can be stored on the hard disk.

2. Disk Fragmenters It searches the files scattered at different places on the hard disk of the computer and brings them to one place. It is used to organize the free space of computer and hard disk.

3. Backup Utilities It keeps a copy of all the information present on the computer's disk and restores the contents of some important files or the entire hard disk when needed.

4. Disk Cleaner It finds and deletes those files, which have not been used for a long time. In this way, it also accelerates the speed of the computer.

5. Antivirus These are utility programs that are used to find and delete computer viruses.
