 प्रिंटर (Printer)

यह एक प्रकार की आउटपुट डिवाइस है। इसका प्रयोग कम्प्यूटर से प्राप्त डाटा और सुचना को किसी कागज पर प्रिंट करने के लिए करते हैं , जो हार्ड कॉपी कहलाती है। यह ब्लैक और वाइट के साथ - साथ रंगीन डाक्यूमेंट्स को भी प्रिंट कर सकता है। किसी प्रिंटर की गति करैक्टर प्रति सेकंड (Character Per Second, CPS) में , लाइन प्रति मिनट (Line Per Minute, LPM) में और पेजेस प्रति मिनट (Pages Per Minute, PPM) में मापी जाती है। किसी प्रिंटर की क्वालिटी डॉट्स प्रति इंच (Dots Per Inch, DPI) में मापी जाती है। 

प्रिंटर को दो भागो में बता गया है 

1. इम्पैक्ट प्रिंटर (Impact Printer)

यह प्रिंटर टाइपराइटर की तरह कार्य करता है। इसमें अक्सर प्रिंट करने के लिए छोटे - छोटे पिन या हैमर होते है। इन पीने पे अक्सर बने होते है। ये पिन स्याही से लगे हुए रिबन और उसके बाद पेपर पर प्रहार करते हैं , जिससे अक्सर पेपर पारर प्रिंट हो जाते है। इम्पैक्ट प्रिंटर एक बार में एक करैक्टर या लाइन प्रिंट कर सकता है। ये प्रिंटर दूसरे प्रिंटर की तुलना में सस्ते होते है और प्रिंटिंग के दौरान अधिक आवाज करते है , इसलिए इनका प्रयोग काम होता है। 

इम्पैक्ट प्रिंटर निम्न प्रकार के होते हैं 

a. डॉट मैट्रिक्स प्रिंटर ( Dot Matrix Printer) इस प्रकार के प्रिंटर में प्रिंटिंग बिन्दु द्वारा की जाती है। इसमें पिन की एक रॉ होती है , जो कागज के ऊपरी सिरे पर प्रहार करते है , तो डॉट्स का एक समूह एक मेट्रिक के रूप में कागज पर पड़ता है , जिससे अक्सर या चित्र प्रिंट हो जाते है। 

b. लाइन प्रिंटर (Line Printer) ये प्रिंटर कागज पर दवाब डालकर एक बार में पूरी एक लाइन प्रिंट करते हैं इसलिए इन्हे लाइन प्रिंटर कहते है।

c. ड्रम प्रिंटर (Drum Printer) ये एक प्रकर के लाइन प्रिंटर होते होते है , जिससे एक बेलनकार ड्रम (Cylindrical Drum) लगातार घूमता रहता है। इस ड्रम में अक्सर उभरे हुए होते है। ड्रम और कागज के बीच में एक स्याही से लगी हुई रिबन होती है। जिस स्थान पे अक्सर प्रिंट करना होता है , स स्थान पर हैमर कागज के साथ - साथ रिबन पर प्रहार करता है। रिबन पे प्रहार होने से रिबन ड्रम में लगे अक्सर पर दवाब डालता है , जिससे अक्सर कागज पर प्रिंट हो जाते है। 

2. नॉन इम्पैक्ट प्रिंटर (Non Impact Printer)

ये प्रिंटर कागज पर प्रहार नहीं करते है , बल्कि अक्सर या इमेज प्रिंट करने के लिए स्याही की फुहार कागज पर छोड़ते है। .नॉन इम्पैक्ट प्रिंटर प्रिंटिंग में इलेक्ट्रोस्टेटिक केमिकल और इंकजेक तकनिकी का प्रयोग करते है। 

नॉन इम्पैक्ट प्रिंटर निम्न प्रकार के होते है। 

a. इंकजेट प्रिंटर (Inkjet Printer) इसमें कागज पर स्याही की फुहार द्वारा छोटे - छोटे बिडो दालकर प्रिंटिंग की जाती है। इनकी प्रिंटिंग की गति 1 से 4 पेज प्रति मिनट होती है। 

b. लेज़र प्रिंटर (Laser Printer) लेज़र प्रिंटर के द्वारा उच्च गुडवत्ता के अक्सर प्रिंट होते है। ये विभिन्न प्रकार के अक्सर लेस किरणों की सहायता से प्रिंट हो जाते है।

It is a type of output device. It is used to print the data and information received from the computer on a paper, which is called hard copy. It can print black and white as well as color documents. The speed of a printer is measured in Character Per Second (CPS), Line Per Minute (LPM) and Pages Per Minute (PPM). The quality of a printer is measured in Dots Per Inch (DPI).

The printer is told in two parts

1. Impact Printer

This printer acts like a typewriter. It often has small pins or hammers to print on. These drinks are often made on. These pins strike the ink-coated ribbon and then the paper, often resulting in paper par prints. Impact printers can print one character or line at a time. These printers are cheaper than other printers and make more noise during printing, so their use is useful.

Impact printers are of the following types

a. Dot Matrix Printer Printing in this type of printer is done by point. It consists of a row of pins which, when struck at the top end of the paper, cause a group of dots to fall on the paper in the form of a matrix, often or images are printed.

b. Line Printer These printers print the entire line at a time by applying pressure on the paper, hence they are called line printers.

c. Drum Printer These are a type of line printer, due to which a cylindrical drum continuously rotates. These drums often have bulges. Between the drum and the paper is an ink-tipped ribbon. The hammer strikes the paper as well as the ribbon in places where printing is often to be done. When the ribbon is struck, the ribbon exerts pressure on the drum, which often results in prints on paper.

2. Non Impact Printer

These printers do not strike the paper, but often spray or spray ink on the paper to print the image. .Non-impact printers use electrostatic chemicals and inkjet technology in printing.

There are following types of non impact printers.

a. Inkjet Printer In this, printing is done by spraying ink on the paper by putting small dots. Their printing speed is 1 to 4 pages per minute.

b. Laser Printer High quality prints are often done by laser printers. These different types are often printed with the help of laser rays.
